Are you thinking of starting a business? Or are you already on the journey and want advice on how to get it off the ground or grow? Small Business Research + Enterprise Centre's advisers can help with 121 tailored business guidance and support. Our business advisers have years of experience and knowledge in business and can help you at any stage of your business journey.

Who is it for?

This is for you if want to start or grow your business and are looking for practical advice to help you achieve this.

What does it cover?

We will help you think through the many practical aspects of starting up, including the legal structure of your business, who you need to tell, intellectual property, budgeting, industry research and more.

We will advise you on researching your business idea to help you decide if it is viable and offer advice on writing your business plan.

How much will it cost?

The initial session will cost £30 for one hour. A discount is available if you would like further meetings.

What happens next?

When you book your advice session, we will receive a notification.

A business adviser will contact you within two working days to arrange a mutually convenient time to meet via live chat. We will use either Teams or Zoom, whichever you prefer.

Confidentiality: your business venture and our discussions will remain confidential within Small Business Research+ Enterprise Centre’s business support team.

When you register for advice, a business advisor will arrange a Teams or Zoom link for you to meet in. If you have any issues connecting, please contact your business advisor or sbrec@cityoflondon.gov.uk.

Refunds / Cancellations

We try to keep our events free but some of them may have a small charge. Cancellations for free events are available until the date of the event. Refunds on paid events available up to 48hrs before.
